I've been a keen mathematician for as long as I can remember. I have always enjoyed maths, especially number and arithmetic. I love how it stimulates my mind and challenges me, enabling my brain to stay healthy. Away from education, having strong maths skills has been crucial in being an active sportsman. As a darts enthusiast, rapid arithmetic is crucial. This allows me to focus my attention on trying to hit the right numbers. When playing golf, I need to quickly estimate distances to choose the correct club, and whilst playing pool and snooker, I need to score quickly and consider the angle of every shot. Have a think about the sports that you play; how often do you rely on good maths skills to help you?
