We celebrated Book Week at Normandy Primary School with a variety of activities arranged for the pupils.
We were lucky enough to be visited by two different authors, Nicholas Allen author of The Queen's Knickers, helped years 1,2 and 3 with ideas on how to start writing stories and Matt Oldfield, who has written many football books, inspired years 4,5 and 6 on writing with an interest. Both authors were extremely engaging and encouraged the pupils to use their fantastic imaginations and develop their writing.
We held another fantastic Book Fair for the whole school, with a variety of books on sale for all age groups. We raised a fantastic £367.90 which will be spent on new books for our ever growing school library. Thank you.
SOCK PUPPET COMPETITION
We had some fantastic entries for our Sock Puppet competition with the whole school getting involved and designing Sock Puppet Characters.
WORLD BOOK DAY - DRESS UP DAY
We ended Book Week by celebrating our favourite book characters. Children came to school dressed as their favourite character from their favourite book and we even had some teachers getting involved...Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum were especially rememberable!
